Exploring 'round TTDI.
People always tell me that PJ is full of wonderful cafes and excellent food, I never did believe them. I know it's where the riches hang but not expecting there be so many nice places to chill. I'm a big big big fan of cafes even tho I can't take caffeine, what to do. Location 1: Pickle & Fig Truth is, I don't understand what a fig is and I didn't know what the place is selling. I, honestly, was looking forward to the usual breakfast of sausages and eggs. But on random selection, stumbling upon this place was not a disappointment. And now that I've been there, drum rolls please, it sells sandwiches! Like it's not obvious enough that the menu has the titles of "Hot Pressed Panini" and "Cold Gourmet Sandwiches". Yeah I know, the photo taken is not entirely focused on the food menu, and yes, it's unfortunate that the menu is ruined by water leaked from the air-condition system. What I like about this place is that the setting is so simple yet so quintessential (I just learned a new word today hehe) and that is what it's all about now - the new trend of cafes. The pallets in the previous photo are actually chairs! Such creativity and uniqueness. Morocca Lamb Pocket @ RM19. Rotkraut Pastrami @ RM19. Honey Passion Asamboi @ RM8. The name was what caught my attention, asamboi mixed with passion fruit. Now that's a first. Onion & Cheddar @ RM8. Not recommended as most people would not be able to accept the taste of onion soup. Cool place to slack off. A big thumbs-up. Location 2: Quar/Tet Heard that the place is run by four guys from a local indie band but no way indeed was I gonna think that they are Malays. Nothing against the race but stereotypically, Malays are not so into this kind of things. Spare me the talk of everyone is developing and yada yada, I get it. Sor-ry! LOL. The typical kind of cafes: Yellow lights, selling cakes and coffee. And of course, paintings/posters/photos that catches your eyes. With all the cafes opening now, not to mention the ridiculous little area they all gather in, you gotta have something to help you stand out. I wouldn't say this cafe is unique but the limited food choices gives the impression of delivering better food and it's not a lie. Jerusalem @ RM10. The ultimate bitterness of coffee everywhere in the world with a touch of Salem at the end of each taste, as described by my friend hahaha. Egg Royale @ RM16. Steak Sandwich @ RM20. Very ordinary, not much to comment. Suitable for friends to catch up. Labels: outing 0 Comments:
