Exploring 'round TTDI.

People always tell me that PJ is full of wonderful cafes and excellent food, I never did believe them. I know it's where the riches hang but not expecting there be so many nice places to chill. I'm a big big big fan of cafes even tho I can't take caffeine, what to do.

Location 1: Pickle & Fig

Truth is, I don't understand what a fig is and I didn't know what the place is selling. I, honestly, was looking forward to the usual breakfast of sausages and eggs. But on random selection, stumbling upon this place was not a disappointment. And now that I've been there, drum rolls please, it sells sandwiches!

Like it's not obvious enough that the menu has the titles of "Hot Pressed Panini" and "Cold Gourmet Sandwiches". Yeah I know, the photo taken is not entirely focused on the food menu, and yes, it's unfortunate that the menu is ruined by water leaked from the air-condition system.

What I like about this place is that the setting is so simple yet so quintessential (I just learned a new word today hehe) and that is what it's all about now - the new trend of cafes.

The pallets in the previous photo are actually chairs! Such creativity and uniqueness.

Morocca Lamb Pocket @ RM19.

Rotkraut Pastrami @ RM19.

Honey Passion Asamboi @ RM8. The name was what caught my attention, asamboi mixed with passion fruit. Now that's a first.

Onion & Cheddar @ RM8. Not recommended as most people would not be able to accept the taste of onion soup.

Cool place to slack off. A big thumbs-up.

Location 2: Quar/Tet

Heard that the place is run by four guys from a local indie band but no way indeed was I gonna think that they are Malays. Nothing against the race but stereotypically, Malays are not so into this kind of things. Spare me the talk of everyone is developing and yada yada, I get it. Sor-ry! LOL.

The typical kind of cafes: Yellow lights, selling cakes and coffee.

And of course, paintings/posters/photos that catches your eyes.

With all the cafes opening now, not to mention the ridiculous little area they all gather in, you gotta have something to help you stand out. I wouldn't say this cafe is unique but the limited food choices gives the impression of delivering better food and it's not a lie.

Jerusalem @ RM10. The ultimate bitterness of coffee everywhere in the world with a touch of Salem at the end of each taste, as described by my friend hahaha.

Egg Royale @ RM16.

Steak Sandwich @ RM20.

Very ordinary, not much to comment. Suitable for friends to catch up.

Of girlfriends dating and vanity.

It's been a while since I last had a real date with one of my closest dearest girlfriends and that day when I asked her when is her semester break, we decided to have this impromptu lunch date at Journal by Plan B. I've never been here and I've heard so much of Publika. Indeed, it is a fancy place, just like Straits Quay back in Penang.

Nice atmosphere with great lighting for pictures. The only thing I don't like about this restaurant is that it's too open. Every passerby can see you, no privacy for dining, but all in all awesome.

Can't you see I'm a lady? Sitting elegantly with that smile. It's all a lie! LOL.

I've always envied those who can drink coffee. Seems like everyone enjoys a relaxing café with aromatic cappuccino and pretty coffee art. Too bad I'm allergic to caffeine.

Asian Style Soft-Shelled Crab Spaghetti @ RM26.

Big Breakfast @ RM29.

We wanted to have some dessert after lunch but we were too far full to have even a drop of water. So we walked around Publika trying to find Coffee Stain by Joseph. Just wondering how the shop is like cause JinnyboyTV shot their Conversations Over Coffee there.

OOTD.

Her OOTD.

Had a great day catching up with the lovely babe just talking about boys and drama despite both of our final examination for the semester coming up in less than two weeks. Love ya lots!

First classmates outing, Shawn's birthday.

Back in Penang while I was studying Diploma, I was never tight with my classmates. Not to blame it on everyone but I guess it was because I was the weird crazy one and I was always busy with boyfriend and class-skipping. Here in KL, people aren't exactly super friendly like where I was raised and being the tough and independent girl that I am, I just stick to myself and be alone. Yesterday while I was walking after class, one of our classmates invited me to join them for lunch.

Initially, the plan was to go Festival Mall, a mall super near to my apartment and our college. I just followed them, being quiet and not giving any opinions. I mean it's my first time talking to them, of course I'm shy! And I wouldn't want to offend anyone with my straight-to-point way of talking, I know I have a problem -_-

First location: Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf

Suddenly they changed plan to go Alexis in Bangsar, that's far but three of our classmates have cars so the distance's not a problem. But then Alexis was too expensive for us, freaking RM40+ for a plate of spaghetti so they changed to this place. Because the place was in a mall, it took us quite some time to find it, none of us knew the road around the area but we had our trusty Waze.

The relaxed ambience of the pork serving restaurant is the reason for its popularity.

We had to sit in the outdoor section because there were too many of us. It wasn't as hot as we expected, they had trees and fans which made it so cool. Had our first group shot. The guy in the pink t-shirt is the birthday boy, Shawn.

Prices were on acceptable level for a very big plate of food.

The one nicest to eat was this recommended Mighty Piggy Burger @ RM28. We didn't have a chance to try the pasta cause the kitchen weren't prepared to serve any other kind of food except for breakfasts and sandwiches.

Ground Floor, Bangsar Village 1, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Open daily: 9am to 11pm
03-2283 2270

Second location: Dip n Dip

Quote of the cafe is "A taste will make you :)", I missed out the emoticon. We had dessert after lunch here, located near Alexis.

The sweet and overwhelming smell of chocolate burst out once you open the door to the cafe. Chocolate lovers filled the cafe and chitter chatter about how great the desserts are.

Prices are a little expensive but if you come after a meal, a plate of their dessert will be enough for 2-3 person.

The best one that I had was this Fondant @ RM13.50. It's like chocolate lava cake and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

After having our second big group shot which is the first picture of this post. I had a small group shot with the three classmates that were in the same car for the journey of the day and of course the birthday boy.

Jalan Telawi, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Open Sat to Thurs: 11am to 1am
Fri: 2.30pm-1am
03-2201 5052

We ended our day with a swim below the apartment of one of the classmate and dinner nearby. In conclusion, the whole day was joyous and I'm glad to have agreed to go out with them instead of rotting in my apartment. LOL.
